Happy Monday everyone!
I hope your all excited for a new week and have lots of exciting things planned.
I thought I would bring back the Manicure Monday feature on the blog, hopefully this time I will keep up with it a little better than I did last year!
So I had my nails done a few days ago in one of my favourite colours, my nail technician actually said to me that this is the style she always associates with me! So this is CND’s Field Fox (my favourite nude colour that CND does) topped with a glitter pigment. I call these my unicorn nails because they are so gorgeous and glittery!
What do you currently have on your nails?!
Just a quick one today to mention that I am back on Youtube! I made it my mission to post a video every week this year, and so far so good! I’ve been back since January and it’s all going great so far.
If your not already following me on Youtube you can find me under the username Cosy Caitlin (or via the video below 😉 and please do subscribe if you like my videos!
I will try my best to be a little more active on here, but for now I am really enjoying filming & editing, so please bear with me. There are some exciting changes coming to both my blog & youtube in the next few weeks so keep an eye pealed for those!
Love, Hannah xxx
Hello everyone, welcome to 2017 on CosyCaitlin!
I thought I would kick off the new year on the blog with a review of my first ever beauty advent calendar.
With it being my first year with a calendar I wanted to get one that was within a lower budget so that I wasn’t investing lots of money in one to be disappointed. The one I got was the Tanya Burr Cosmetics 12 Days of Christmas calendar. I bought this calendar back in November when it was on offer, so I only paid £15 through Superdrug!
With this being just a 12 day calendar I decided to space out the windows and only open one every other day, this meant that it lasted me 24 days and so all the way through December!
So now were in January and I’ve opened all of the windows and have 12 of the Tanya Burr Cosmetics products to try out. So what did I actually think about the calendar? I have to admit, although I love TBC, I was prepared to be a little disappointed with what I received. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I opened each window! The product quality was just as good as if you buy a product on its own, and it gave me the option of trying lots of new products without a huge price tag.
The calendar included:
~ 3x Nail Varnish
~ 3x Lip Products (1x matte lip, 1x lipgloss, 1x lipglass)
~ 2x Glitter Eye Pigment
~ 2x Glitter Eyeliners
~ Small Pocket Mirror
~ Nail File
I have to say that this calendar won me over! Next year (well, this year!) I plan on trying a couple of different ones and investing in slightly higher end ones too.
What kind of advent calendar did you have this Christmas?
Happy manicure Monday lovely people!
This week is a little different as I’ve decided to mix up my nail game a little…
That’s right, I’ve gone for the fakes! I decided a while ago that I fancied having nail extensions again, so a couple of weeks ago I went for the plunge!
I currently have CND acrylic nail extensions which are rounded (and slightly pointy!). They’re not much longer than my natural nail, only around half a centimetre, but it makes a whole lotta difference. When I first had them done I had CND’s Creekside on, however I had then re-levelled last week and changed it to CND’s Gotcha which I am really enjoying!
What do you currently have on your nails?
I want to start a new feature on my blog called ‘Let’s talk about..’ where I can talk about anything and everything!
I want to cover many topics in this feature, from typical everyday things (healthy eating and exercise) to those things we feel uncomfortable talking about (how much does a bikini wax really hurt?!). I want to cover the things I enjoy reading about, and the things I wish more people would talk about!
I know a lot of those who read my blog are a similar age to me or younger, so if there’s anything you want me to cover or you have anything to input into these posts then please let me know! I’ll be starting this feature in the next few weeks so keep an eye pealed!
The last few months I have really got back into reading. Getting lost in a book is one of my favourite things and something I look forward to even more when I am getting ready to head on holiday! Instead of just reading on a night before bed (my current routine) I spend all day reading instead and can easily read several books during my time on holiday!
If you look through my amazon wishlist you will see that its basically filled with books. Last week I took the opportunity to order some off my list, 2 to read at home and 2 for my holiday (the rest I will load onto my kobo electronic book). When deciding which books to buy 2 were a no-brainer as I have recently been to see Me Before You in cinemas (if you haven’t seen this please do, its so good!) and discovered there was a sequel! For the second set I went purely on Zoe Sugg’s suggestions, Everything Everything is included in her book club and she has spoken about Finding Audrey on several occasions, plus Sophie Kinsella is one of my favourite authors!
Buying books makes me so happy, I’m a very have and hold person so having a physical book is something I love. These shiny new books are currently sat on my bookshelf waiting to be read and catching my eye every time I walk past! Obviously I cannot review these yet as I haven’t even read the first pages, but if you would like me to do this once I have read them let me know!
Now the hard bit is deciding which to read first…
I’m back from my litter ‘break’ and armed with a notebook full of ideas. Of course my first post back had to be a Manicure Monday one, because I cant have a new nail colour without letting you all know about it!
This month I went for CND Shellac’s Mint Convertible. Its quite similar to Creekside and is such a lovely pastel mint green. I am still trying to make the most of the summer and the bright colours so this was an obvious choice!
What colour do you currently have on your nails?
