Birchbox Wowcher Review ~ 2015

I’d always looked at beauty boxes while at uni, however the price was always an obstacle. For a student, £12.50 a month on 5 mini products wasn’t something I could justify. Just after I had finished uni and moved home, I came across a deal on Wowcher for a 5 month Birchbox review, for just over half price. This was something I couldn’t turn down, and the fact it was a one-off payment was even better, especially for a trial version for me! I wanted to keep all my boxes together (a much harder task than you may think!) so that I could review them all together and give you all a review!

Box 1 ~ August

Unfortunately I have now had to cancel my subscription, however plan to start it up again as soon as I can! This Wowcher deal was so worth the money, and if it came up again I would not hesitate to sign up. I got loads of products that I can use throughout the year, and the ones I know I won’t use I can give as gifts! Getting this through the post was a huge hit in my office as we all gathered around to see what I got each month!

Beauty Blogger Tag ~ 2016

I was nominated this week to answer 10 questions by GlitterGalaxyFirefly! This is the first tag I have been added to as a blog, so its exciting! I have answered the questions below, and nominated a few other blogs to answer some I have set. If you fancy answering them, leave me a comment!

  1. If you could have lunch with anyone who would it be?
Gabriella Lindley, she seems like such a lovely girl and someone I’d get on really well with! Plus, were both from up north so we can’t mock each others accents!!
  2. What was the last text you sent
I sent two texts at the same time! One was to my uncle about slippers, the other was to my best friend about working out!
  3. What is the best compliment you have ever received?
I was told I look ‘really healthy’ once, that doesn’t mean a lot to some people but it really meant a lot to me!
  4. What would you buy if you won £100?
I’d either put it towards a deposit for a flat or on buying furniture!
  5. Perfect pizza topping?
I guess this changes with my mood, right now it would be bbq chicken with veggies.
  6. What is your favourite book?
This changes all the time, but right now I am still loving Girl on the Train which I read in October
  7. Would you rather never wash your face again or never wash your hair again?
Never wash my hair again, it ends up cleaning itself over time anyway!
  8. If you could only keep 5 of your possessions what would they be?
My teddy, My Tiffany jewellery (that counts as one right?!), My uni photo album, My christening bracelets and my car!
  9. Who inspires you the most?
My dad, no matter what he always goes into work and makes the best of it, takes care of us as a family and would do anything for us as well as taking the time to look after himself too. He has a heart of gold and I love him a lot!
  10. What would change in your life if you stopped blogging?
I think I would be a bit lost! I love blogging and taking the time to write about things, in a way its my creative time, so I think that although it wouldn’t affect my life as such, I would feel a bit empty!

My questions for you;

  1. If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
  2. Who was the last person you rang/received a call from?
  3. If you could only wear one lipstick for the rest of your life, what would it be?
  4. Summer or Winter?
  5. If you could move house tomorrow, who would you live with?
  6. What is your favourite product of 2016 so far?
  7. What is your favourite makeup brand?
  8. What is your ultimate snack?
  9. Do you prefer makeup or nail varnish?
  10. What made you start blogging?

and I nominate..

Pixie Chat
Sophia Crisp
& Jannie (I know your reading!)

I look forward to seeing your answers, have fun!

If you could keep 3 products you bought in 2015, what would they be? ~ Makeup

This question came up in a blog update email that I receive a few times a week, and I thought it would be perfect to follow through and do a blog post about! I’ve decided to do this exclusively for my makeup, as to choose 3 products from everything I have bought this year would be so hard!

The first thing I would keep would be my Chanel lipstick in Rouge Allure (122). I got this myself as a makeup treat for my 21st birthday from Harrods. I already owned a Chanel lipstick and loved it, so had to get another! I wear this much more in winter but can add nudes over the top so it is an every day lipstick. As well as it just being too gorgeous to give up, it is also the lipstick I wore for my graduation in 2015, so I will always have it linked to that day!

The next would be my Dior Skin Nude foundation in 020. I tried this as a sample from a magazine and fell in love! I bought this on the boat back from my holiday in Belgium and although I haven’t yet used it (the shade is too light for the tan I had from my holiday!) I love how it looks and cannot wait to start using it daily!

Lastly I would have to say my Tanya Burr Cosmetics lipgloss in Lunch Date . I have been wanting to try one of Tanya’s lip glosses for a while, and when they went on offer at Superdrug I couldn’t resist! I got a nudish shade as I wasn’t sure what the pigmentation was like or if I would be able to wear them every day, and as I was buying online I had to go by what the picture showed. I was so happy when I opened it to see the colour was perfect, and the packaging is so nice too! The smell is also something I wasn’t expecting, as it smells so nice for a lipgloss! I wear this a lot, and so would not be able to start 2016 without it!

What 3 products you bought in 2015 would you keep?!

Restarting my Fitness Journey ~ January 2015

I wanted to write this blog post as I originally started blogging about my weightloss, and being healthy is something I am passionate about! If you follow me on twitter you will know that I tweet regularly about my meals or working out. This isn’t something I normally write about on this blog, and will be a rare feature, but its something I would like to share with you all!
I started my lifestyle change a couple of years ago now, and got into the full swing of it in late 2014. I loved going to the gym, and getting up at 7:30 and walking for 40 minutes to make my Body Pump class was something I looked forward to. Healthy eating was something I loved, and found much easier to stick to once I moved in with my best friend. In July I moved home after completing my 3 years at university, and being made to follow my family’s eating habits and change my gym plan around full time work was a lot harder than I thought it would be!
After slacking for a few months, I decided that in 2016 I would get back to taking care of myself. I made the decision to quit the gym and start working out from home, and I contacted Lucy Wyndham Read about being my online personal trainer and last week I got my first set of plans through.
I’ve completed a week now, and I technically haven’t worked out for 3 of those days (although my legs are saying something else!!), however I already feel better just from doing a 20-30 minute workout a day! This week I am focusing on my eating habits and incorporating what Lucy has included on my plan.
I refuse to go back to where I was, and only move forward. I’m lucky that I have people around me supporting me, however that does not mean I won’t still have challenges. This post is me re-starting my healthy lifestyle and I will try and write a new post every few months to keep both myself and you updated with my progress!

p.s – I am aware that the angles in my images are different, I have tried to find the best suited ones I could to show you my change! H x

HomeSense Haul

If you ever lost me in TK Maxx, the homeware department was always where you could find me. Knowing that Homesense was popping up shops around the country, I couldn’t wait to go to one, and have certainly had my fill over the last 2 months (although really when do you stop? I’d go tomorrow if I could!). I decided to do a little haul of everything I’ve bought over my last 3 visits, which I talk through in my YouTube video. Hope you enjoy!
